For Households with Multiple Coffee Drinkers

If you like the idea of a pod coffee maker, but the person you’re buying for lives in a household with multiple coffee drinkers you should consider a dual coffee maker. Cuisinart offers a Commercial 2-cup pod coffee maker in stainless steel that is available for as little as $55.

This model doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the pricier models however it does have many great features. Most importantly, it allows users to brew either one cup or two cups simultaneously. It can also use any brand of coffee pod, which will help with both flavor varieties and budget. The ability to use any standard size cup or mug means you don’t have to purchase a special one to make sure they can use their gift. And the auto shutoff when the water reservoir is empty is a great safety feature.

Be aware though that this model is missing some features that many people “can’t live without.” First, there is no timer to turn on the machine. Someone who doesn’t like to wait, even that minute or two for brewing would be disappointed. Also, the machine doesn’t allow users to adjust the strength and temperature. If your recipient is picky about their coffee, they might not like the fixed setting since they can’t adjust it to their preferences. Furthermore, there is only one cup size making it necessary to brew multiple cups in order to fill a travel mug. The saving grace for this – two cups can be brewed at once!

Still, this is an excellent choice. It’s not fancy, but it is affordable. It also solves the biggest problem with single serve coffee makers – the inability to brew multiple cups at once!

My Story - The Best Gift of All

It’s been months now but I still think back to my introduction to the pod coffee maker. It was Christmas morning and I opened my present from my sister. Inside was the Keurig B60 single serve coffee maker along with 50 pods in assorted flavors.

I would like to tell you that I was overjoyed to get such an amazing gift, but to be honest I wasn’t really sure what it was. I saw the word “coffee maker” on the box, but where was the glass carafe? And what the h*** were the little plastic cups for?

So my sister took me into the kitchen and taught me all about my first pod coffee maker. She took it out of the box, plugged it in, put one of those plastic cups in the holder (I later found out these were K-Cups) and filled it with water. But when she put a single cup under the spout, I had to say something. I know it was Christmas. I should be grateful for the gift, but did she think I was going to spend all morning in the kitchen making coffee? There were 10 people at our house!

Little did I know. It amazes me now that I didn’t understand. She pushed the button, and less than a minute later I was holding a steaming cup of coffee. Ok, maybe this wasn’t so bad after all. Then I took my first sip.

Oh my! It was better than anything I had ever tasted! Well, that may be an exaggeration, but it was REALLY good! I think my sister finally got the reaction she was hoping for!

Since that day, I’ve been hooked on the pod coffee maker. I’ve found that there are many different makes and models. I love my Keurig, but it might not be the right choice for everyone. There are other machines I hope to try someday, but my Keurig is still working well so I’ll wait until it needs to be replaced. Until then, I’ll keep up my research.

Coffee makes the world go ‘round. Okay, maybe that’s not EXACTLY true, but for those of us who have trouble functioning in the morning without some it certainly feels that way!
I am passionate about coffee, although I will admit that I’m not picky about coffee. While I prefer a good cup of Joe in the morning, any caffeinated sludge will do in a pinch. This has gotten me through many camping trips, with coffee singed over the campfire. But I now know that I do not need to sacrifice!

I have found the pod coffee maker – and I LOVE it! The pod coffee maker is one of the most popular small kitchen appliances today. You probably own one yourself, or know someone who does. The chances are pretty good that you will need to buy a gift for that person at some point – birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc.

Because the owners of these great machines are often passionate about coffee, buying a gift couldn’t be easier.
